# Getting Started

## Pre Conditions

To use the Delegation of Authority (DoA) feature, certain pre-conditions must be met.

1.  **Availability in the Live Environment:** The DoA Log is exclusively available in the Live environment. This means that the feature becomes accessible only when your environment is set to Live.
2.  **Enabling the “Live” Feature:** Ensure that the AM has enabled this feature in the Feature Control. If not, you may need to contact them to request this activation.
3.  **Adding Principal Investigator (PI) to User List:**
    -   You need to add the Principal Investigator (PI) to the user list in your study.
    -   If the PI is not added to the list, they won't appear in the PI selection options during the delegation assignment.
4.  **Granting permission:** The default permissions assigned to each role are outlined below. Additionally, you may need to assign specific permissions to your users. This can be done in the '**USERS & PERMISSIONS**' tab, located within the 'User Management' section.
