Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why can't I see the Delegation of Authority (DoA) menu or the button to create a new DoA log?**
- Check Permissions: Initially, you should verify your user permissions within the Users section to ensure you have the necessary access rights.
- Contact Study Management: If your permissions are in order and you still cannot see the DoA options, please reach out to your Account Manager (AM) to confirm that the feature is activated for your study.
What if some staff haven't signed their DoA records, but PI approval is needed for others?
The Study Manager (SM) can temporarily remove the records of staff who have not signed. This allows the PI to approve the existing completed records. After the PI's approval, the SM should create a new version of the DoA log and then re-add the previously removed staff members to complete the signing process.
Can the SM create multiple delegation records for the same staff member?
Yes, the SM can create multiple delegation records for the same staff member if each record represents a distinct role. However, a staff member cannot hold more than one active delegation for the same role concurrently. The system is designed to prevent the creation of duplicate active roles for an individual. The staff member is required to sign each delegation record to acknowledge their responsibilities for each role.
Why is there no edit button on the DoA log?
If you cannot find the edit option, it might be due to the DoA log having already been approved by the PI. In such cases, no further edits can be made to that version of the log. Create a new log version to modify the delegations.
