PI Final Authorization (Sign Off)

The PI Final Authorization feature is the conclusive step in the study's closeout process, allowing Principal Investigators to give their official seal of approval. Ensure all information is correct before completing this process, as it represents your final verification of the study's delegated responsibilities and outcomes.

The SIGN OFF button is enabled and visible only to PIs once all PI initials are in place on the DoA Log.

  1. Click on the SIGN OFF button located in the upper corner of the DoA Log interface.
  2. Click Sign button on the Sign Off History panel.
  3. Consent to Electronic Signature:
    1. A confirmation window will appear, asking, "Do you consent to signing this document electronically?"
    2. If you agree, select YES to move forward with the electronic signing process. Complete the electronic signature as instructed. Your electronic signature will be captured and recorded in the system.
  4. Manual Signature Process:
    • If you opt for a manual signature, the system will generate a PDF document with the declaration and the PI's initials, along with designated space for you to sign manually.
    • Print the document, sign it in the provided space, and follow your organization's protocol to submit the signed document.

Once the Final Authorization is completed, the DoA Log is locked. No further amendments or versions can be added to ensure the integrity of the study's closure documentation.
