Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) FAQ

What is MFA?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) refers to a multi-step account login process that requires the user to enter more information than just a password to gain access.

MFA relies on two forms of authentication: your password and a token sent to your mobile device in a text message or email. The second authentication factor to gain access can help prevent unauthorized user access when the system password has been compromised.

Who is impacted by MFA?

MFA is required for all users who access the Talosix application beginning on December 20, 2022.

What are my authentication options?

You can choose a primary authentication method when you enroll, which you can change or update at any time.

Verification MethodDescription
EmailAn email with a 6-digit code is sent to your email that you will need to enter to complete the authentication process.
Text MessageA text message with a 6-digit code is sent to your mobile device that you will need to enter to complete the authentication process.

How do you enroll in MFA?

You can enroll in MFA and configure your authentication method through a simple and intuitive interface at the next login.

How do I change or update my authentication method?

You can change your authentication settings by navigating to My Settings and selecting the other verification method under Enable MFA.

How often do I have to re-authenticate?

You will need to re-authenticate each device and browser you use. If you select to remember the device, you will need to reauthenticate it after 30 days.

What if I don’t have my phone with me?

If you don't have access to your mobile device to receive text messages, you can enter your password and then click on Get the code a different way link. A dialog window will appear, and you can select email for validation preference.
